Reverse description The reverse features a finely engraved scene depicting Admiral Horatio Nelson and Napoleon Bonaparte in half-length portrait, facing one another in their respective military uniforms, rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished field. The arc legend ADMIRAL HORATIO NELSON 1758-1805 runs along the upper periphery, with NAPOLEON & NELSON inscribed below the central figures. A facsimile of Nelson's signature appears in the lower field, with the denomination $10 struck below. The design was executed by Philip Nathan to commemorate the bicentenary of the Battle of Trafalgar.
