At centre, a large polychrome tree of life rises from a small island, its canopy rendered in vivid green enamel, while a sequence of silhouetted figures progressing from quadrupedal primates to upright Homo sapiens marches across the base of the trunk. Pterosaurs in flight appear to the right in relief against the mirrored field. The lower half of the design features deep blue and turquoise enamel representing the primordial ocean, with a serpentine aquatic creature visible along the lower left field. A miniaturised nano chip inset on the left, bearing detailed informational imagery of geological eras and fauna, constitutes the principal technological feature of the issue.
