Obverse description Effigy of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, wearing a tiara and light drapery at the shoulder, rendered in the Ian Rank-Broadley portrait style. The legend BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS arcs along the upper left rim, while QUEEN ELIZABETH II 2006 arcs along the upper right rim. The portrait occupies the central field against a smooth, mirror-like proof background. The initials IRB, attributing the engraver Ian Rank-Broadley, appear below the truncation of the bust.

Reverse description The reverse presents a striking split composition in which the left half depicts the bust of the Mona Lisa, selectively gold-gilded to highlight her famous visage, and the right half depicts a portrait of Leonardo da Vinci, the two halves joined at the centre of the coin. Portions of the lettering are rendered in mirror script, referencing Leonardo da Vinci's well-known habit of mirror writing. The denomination $10 appears within the legend, and the commemorative inscription arcs around the perimeter of the field.
