| Reverse description | Two tropical fish, depicted in detailed relief swimming amid coral formations, dominate the central field, with stylized wave motifs visible in the upper background. The inscription MARINE LIFE PROTECTION arcs along the left and lower rim in raised Latin lettering. The denomination $10 appears to the right of the central design in the field. The composition conveys an underwater marine scene consistent with the series theme. |

| Additional information |
Solomon Islands launched this Marine Life Protection series in the early 2000s partly as a revenue mechanism — small-format gold issues sold directly to collectors generate hard currency without the logistical overhead of circulating coinage. At 1.24 g of .999 gold, these were struck to the 1/25 oz specification that briefly found favor among Pacific island issuers competing for the collector bullion market alongside better-known Fijian and Niuean releases.
