The figure of Ludmila is shown wearing a veil and ecclesiastical robes adorned with a cross, holding an open book as she gazes down at the kneeling child who looks up toward her with reverence. The scene is set beneath a Romanesque arch supported by a column, rendered with deep sculptural relief against a polished mirror field.
