Part of a long-running series issued by Solomon Islands exploiting their mint authority to produce small-denomination gold coins for the collector market — a practice with no connection to domestic circulation. The Lighthouse of Alexandria, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, stood on the island of Pharos near Alexandria and is estimated to have reached between 100 and 140 meters, functioning as a navigational aid for roughly 1,500 years before earthquakes progressively destroyed it between the 10th and 14th centuries AD.
