Obverse description Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, crowned and draped, as rendered by Ian Rank-Broadley. The portrait shows the Queen wearing the George IV State Diadem, with fine detail in the hair and robes. The legend BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS arcs along the upper left rim, while QUEEN ELIZABETH II 2013 arcs along the upper right and continues down the right field. The engraver's initials IRB appear below the truncation. The overall style is consistent with the fourth-generation definitive effigy used on Commonwealth coinage from the mid-1990s onward.
