The male figure bends to kiss the cheek of the female, whose face is turned downward in serene repose, her hands gently clasping his. The sweeping gold background, with its characteristic Secessionist spiral and foliate embossed ornamentation, fills the field to the contoured edge of the shaped planchet, faithfully capturing Klimt's distinctive gilded aesthetic. |
