Obverse description The national coat of arms of Barbados occupies the central field, featuring a quartered shield supported by a dolphin to the left and a pelican to the right, with a helmeted crest above bearing a hand grasping two crossed sugarcane stalks. A scroll below the shield bears the national motto PRIDE AND INDUSTRY. Flanking the arms at mid-field are two small trident symbols. The arc legend '1966-INDEPENDENCE-1976' runs along the upper periphery within a beaded border, and the country name 'BARBADOS' appears in large letters along the lower periphery.
