| 背面描述 | The central field depicts a full-rigged sailing vessel, HMS Investigator, under sail on stylised waves occupying the left portion of the design. To the right, a uniformed bust portrait of the British navigator and cartographer Matthew Flinders faces slightly left, rendered in naval officer's dress with epaulettes finely detailed. The arced legend HMS INVESTIGATOR * MATTHEW FLINDERS curves along the upper periphery, separated by a five-pointed star. The denomination 10 DOLLARS appears in the lower exergue in raised lettering against the mirror-polished field. |

HMS Investigator completed the first circumnavigation of Australia under Matthew Flinders between 1801 and 1803, though the voyage was plagued by a rotting hull that nearly sank the ship before Flinders could publish his findings. He was subsequently detained by the French on Mauritius for nearly seven years — Napoleon's government apparently considered his charts a strategic asset. Flinders died in 1814, the day after his account was finally published.
Fiji's connection to the voyage is cartographic rather than territorial; Investigator passed through Pacific waters during the broader expedition.
