| Reverse description | A richly detailed commemorative design centered on a large inlaid crystal element representing the pear-shaped Great Star of Africa (Cullinan I) diamond, radiating star-burst engraving lines across the field. To the left stands a full-length figure of a prospector or miner in period dress holding a rough stone, believed to represent the discovery of the Cullinan diamond in 1905. To the right, within an oval cartouche, appears a uniformed portrait bust of King Edward VII, to whom the stone was presented. A silhouette map of Africa is engraved in the lower right field. The inscriptions 'MOST FAMOUS DIAMONDS', 'GREAT STAR OF AFRICA', and '1905' arc across the upper field, with '2015' incused at the lower left and '530.20 CARATS' prominently inscribed in the lower center. |
