Part of a broader series of miniature gold issues produced for the collector market by the Solomon Islands, a sovereign nation with no geographic or historical connection to the subjects depicted. The Great Pyramid series was struck by a private mint under license — the Solomon Islands name and royal effigy providing legal tender status, the actual design and distribution handled entirely through European bullion and numismatic channels.
At one gram, the coin contains just under 0.032 troy ounces of fine gold.
