| 背面描述 | The reverse displays a partially gilt applied representation of the common reverse of the 1 Euro coin, centrally placed within the field, showing the numeral 1 over a stylized map of Europe with the legend EURO, encircled by a gilt ring. Above the applied Euro coin motif, the legend reads 2002 / FIRST ISSUE OF THE EURO in three lines. In the lower field, the face value 10 DOLLARS appears, with the metal fineness inscription .999 PURE SILVER below. The flan retains the map-of-Germany outline throughout. |

Nauru issued a series of silver dollars in the early 2000s timed to coincide with the euro changeover, selling them primarily to European collector markets rather than circulating them domestically. This piece belongs to that run, commemorating Germany's adoption of the euro on January 1, 2002 — the same date physical euro coins and notes entered circulation across twelve member states simultaneously.
Nauru had no economic relationship with the eurozone. The issue exists entirely as a revenue instrument, part of a broader Pacific island practice of licensing the right to strike commemoratives to private minting firms.
