Obverse description The obverse features the national arms of Nauru centrally positioned within the field, depicting the traditional shield supported by frigate bird feathers and surmounted by a twelve-pointed star above a scroll bearing the motto. The curved legend BANK OF NAURU arcs above the arms, and the date 2002 appears in the lower field. The entire design is struck on a flan shaped in the outline of the map of Germany.

Reverse description The reverse displays a partially gilt applied representation of the common reverse of the 1 Euro coin, centrally placed within the field, showing the numeral 1 over a stylized map of Europe with the legend EURO, encircled by a gilt ring. Above the applied Euro coin motif, the legend reads 2002 / FIRST ISSUE OF THE EURO in three lines. In the lower field, the face value 10 DOLLARS appears, with the metal fineness inscription .999 PURE SILVER below. The flan retains the map-of-Germany outline throughout.
