| 背面描述 | A couchant British lion and a perched American bald eagle are depicted side by side at the centre of the field, both resting upon a tied olive branch wreath symbolising the Anglo-American bond commemorated by the 400th anniversary of the founding of Jamestown. A floral sprig is displayed between them at the top of the central device. A ring of thirteen six-pointed stars encircles the inner field, referencing the original American colonies. The legend UNITED IN FRIENDSHIP arcs along the upper periphery, and the denomination 10 DOLLARS appears in the lower exergue, flanked by stars. |

The British Virgin Islands issued this piece to mark the 400th anniversary of the 1607 Jamestown settlement — a colony the BVI has no direct historical connection to, making this squarely a commemorative struck for the collector market rather than any civic occasion. Jamestown itself was a Virginia Company venture funded by London merchants, and the settlement nearly collapsed entirely during the "Starving Time" winter of 1609–10, when the population fell from roughly 500 to under 60.
The .917 fineness is notably purer than the standard .925 sterling used for most British commemorative issues of this period.
