Struck to mark the 60th anniversary of the November 1947 Westminster Abbey wedding, this was one of hundreds of commemorative issues produced across Commonwealth nations in 2007 for the occasion. The Solomon Islands had no particular connection to the event; the issue exists almost entirely as a bullion-adjacent collectible sold through distribution channels rather than anything approaching domestic circulation.
