Obverse description The national coat of arms of Barbados is prominently displayed in the centre of the field, flanked on either side by the divided date 19-82. A bearded fig tree and a pelican serve as supporters to the shield, which bears a depicted arm holding two crossed sugarcane stalks. The motto ribbon below reads PRIDE AND INDUSTRY. The country name BARBADOS appears in large lettering along the lower portion of the field, within a beaded border.
