| Reversbeschreibung | A highly detailed, gold-plated representation of the Burj Khalifa tower rises prominently from the lower field, its tapering spire reaching toward the upper border against a finely engraved Dubai skyline backdrop rendered in silver. The legend UNITED ARAB EMIRATES arcs along the left border and BURJ DUBAI along the upper right. Issued the same year the Burj Khalifa opened — January 4, 2010 — this Cook Islands piece is one of dozens of commemorative silver dollars the territory releases annually under licensing arrangements that have little connection to the Pacific archipelago itself. Cook Islands has operated one of the more prolific commemorative programs since the 1970s, producing coins marketed almost entirely to thematic collectors in Europe and North America.
The Burj Khalifa surpassed the CN Tower, Taipei 101, and the Petronas Towers to claim the world's tallest structure at 828 metres — a record it still holds.
