Obverse description The coat of arms of Saint Lucia occupies the central field, depicting a quartered shield bearing a Tudor rose and fleur-de-lis, surmounted by a plumed helmet and supported on either side by a Saint Lucia parrot (Amazona versicolor) with wings displayed. Three scroll ribbons below the shield bear the national motto in three parts: THE LAND, THE PEOPLE, and THE LIGHT. The country name SAINT LUCIA appears as an arc legend at the top of the field, and the denomination TEN DOLLARS is inscribed along the lower border.
