Additional information

The Battle of Britain ran from July to October 1940 and marked the first major military campaign fought entirely by air forces. The RAF's Fighter Command was badly outnumbered throughout, and the Luftwaffe came closest to forcing a decision in late August and early September when it shifted attacks to radar stations and sector airfields — a strategy abandoned just as it was beginning to work, when Hitler ordered the focus redirected to bombing London.

Solomon Islands has issued gold commemoratives under Royal Assent since the 1970s, with face values that bear no relationship to bullion or numismatic market prices.
