| Beschrijving keerzijde | A detailed rendering of the Aztec Sun Stone (Sunstone calendar) occupies the central field, depicting the concentric carved relief of the Mexica cosmological disc with the face of the sun god Tonatiuh at its center, surrounded by multiple symbolic bands of glyphs and decorative motifs. The legend 'AZTEC CALENDAR' arcs along the upper rim, while the inscriptions '1/2 G .9999 FINEST GOLD' and '10 DOLLARS' appear along the lower left and lower right of the border respectively, separated by bullet points. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
The Aztec Calendar — more accurately the Mexica Sun Stone, carved around 1502 and rediscovered beneath Mexico City's zócalo in 1790 — has no geographic or historical connection to the Solomon Islands. Its appearance here is purely commercial: the Solomon Islands has operated as a licensing jurisdiction for foreign coin programs since the late 1990s, issuing legal tender on behalf of distributors who retain the actual revenue. These fractional gold pieces, produced in the 0.5g range, target collectors seeking the lowest possible entry point into genuine gold.
