Beschrijving voorzijde Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara, as sculpted by Ian Rank-Broadley, occupying the central field. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the left periphery, COOK ISLANDS along the right, and the denomination 10 DOLLARS is inscribed below the truncation. The portrait displays fine detail in the hair and drapery of the shoulder, characteristic of the fourth definitive effigy used on Commonwealth coinage from 1998 onward.

Beschrijving keerzijde Colorized full-length portrait of Tsar Alexis I (Alexei Mikhailovich) of Russia, depicted in elaborate ceremonial regalia including a jewel-encrusted miter crown, imperial orb and sceptre, and richly embroidered robes, rendered in vivid polychrome color printing. Behind the figure, an uncolored relief scene depicts a Russian Orthodox cathedral and a standing armored warrior, providing historical context. A gilt double-headed eagle of the Russian Imperial coat of arms appears to the lower left, also in color. The Cyrillic legend АЛЕКСЕЙ МИХАЙЛОВИЧ arcs along the upper periphery in gilt lettering, with the dates 1629–1676 inscribed below, and the year 2008 to the lower left field. The design is bordered by a beaded inner circle.
