Reverse description A finely detailed, high-relief depiction of an Australian Wedge-Tailed Eagle (Aquila audax) in dramatic mid-stoop, its broad wings fully extended and powerful talons locked around a writhing snake. The raptor's feathering is rendered with exceptional sculptural precision, conveying both motion and predatory force. The Perth Mint's mintmark P appears to the left of the central design, while the legend AUSTRALIAN WEDGE-TAILED EAGLE arcs along the upper border. Below the eagle in the exergue, the inscription 2021 10OZ 9999 SILVER records the date, weight, and purity, with the engraver's initials JM also present in the design field.

Additional information

The Wedge-Tailed Eagle series, running continuously from 2014, is among the Perth Mint's most commercially successful bullion programs — driven in no small part by strong demand from Asian markets, where the eagle's association with strength and freedom translates well. The 10-ounce format was introduced specifically to capture institutional and stacker buyers priced out of the kilo tier.

The 6th Portrait of Elizabeth II, by Jody Clark, was adopted by the Perth Mint from 2019 onward following the Royal Mint's rollout. Clark won the commission through an internal competition — at 37, he became the youngest artist to portray a reigning monarch on British coinage.
