Reverse description A kookaburra (Dacelo novaeguineae) rendered in high relief and selectively coloured in deep blue tones perches in three-quarter view upon a strand of barbed wire, its head turned downward in a characteristic hunting pose. Below the bird, a detailed spider's web occupies the lower left of the inner field, adding a naturalistic Australian bush setting to the composition. The Perth Mint's 'P' mintmark appears discreetly to the left of the web. The inscription 'THE AUSTRALIAN KOOKABURRA' arcs along the upper legend, while '10oz 999 SILVER' is inscribed to the right of the bird and the date '2008' appears in the lower exergue.
