Obverse description The fourth-portrait effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, as modelled by Ian Rank-Broadley, faces right in high relief at the centre of the coin, wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara and a pearl earring, with finely detailed hair and facial features. The engraver's initials 'IRB' appear below the truncation of the bust. The legend 'ELIZABETH II' arcs along the upper field and 'AUSTRALIA' continues to the right, both set against a deep blue enamel outer border adorned with a continuous beaded inner rim. The denomination '10 DOLLARS' is inscribed along the lower portion of the obverse field, completing the design.
