| Beschrijving voorzijde | The fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, as modelled by Ian Rank-Broadley, is depicted in right-facing profile occupying the central field. The Queen wears the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara, rendered in fine relief with meticulous detail. The engraver's initials 'IRB' appear below the truncation of the neck. The circumferential legend reads 'NEW ZEALAND' to the left and 'ELIZABETH II' to the right, with the date '2017' positioned at the base of the design. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
The Rakiura tokoeka is one of four recognized kiwi subspecies and is confined entirely to Stewart Island — New Zealand's third-largest island, known in Māori as Rakiura, meaning "glowing skies." Unlike its mainland relatives, the Stewart Island population has avoided the worst predator pressure and remains the only kiwi group where birds can still be observed foraging openly during daylight hours. This behavioral anomaly is directly attributable to the near-absence of stoats on the island.
The .9999 fine gold specification places this issue among New Zealand's bullion-quality collector series rather than the circulating commemorative category.
