Obverse description The fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Ian Rank-Broadley, is depicted in right-facing profile, wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara. The legend 'ELIZABETH II' arcs along the upper field to the left, and 'AUSTRALIA' arcs along the upper right, both separated by dot stops. The denomination '10 DOLLARS' is inscribed along the lower field. The engraver's initials 'IRB' appear beneath the truncation of the portrait. The portrait is rendered with fine detail against a mirror-polished field within a raised inner border.

Reverse description The reverse features a highly detailed rendering of a kookaburra (Dacelo novaeguineae) perched atop a weathered wooden fence post wrapped with barbed wire, its head raised and bill open as if calling. A bare, leafless tree stands in the mid-ground to the left, evoking the Australian outback landscape. The legend 'AUSTRALIAN KOOKABURRA' arcs along the upper field, while the inscription '2016 10oz 999 SILVER' appears in the lower exergue. The Perth Mint's 'P' mintmark is positioned to the left of the fence post, and the designer's initials 'NM' appear at lower right. The design is executed in frosted relief against a burnished field.
