| 正面描述 | The fourth portrait effigy of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara, as modelled by Ian Rank-Broadley. The legend ELIZABETH II AUSTRALIA 2014 10 DOLLARS encircles the portrait, with the engraver's initials IRB appearing below the truncation of the bust. The design is rendered in a refined, portrait-style relief typical of Australian commemorative coinage of this era. |

Albany, Western Australia served as the final departure point for the Australian Imperial Force in November 1914, with over 30,000 troops sailing from King George Sound — most of whom had never left the continent before. The centenary of that departure prompted a wave of Australian commemorative issues, of which this Perth Mint gold piece is among the smaller fractional formats produced.
The Perth Mint struck numerous variants across this centenary program in different metals and denominations. Mintage figures for the individual fractional gold pieces were tightly capped, a consistent practice for the Mint's commemorative bullion program throughout this period.
