正面描述 Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara, a pearl drop earring, and a pearl necklace, as modelled by Raphael Maklouf for the third definitive portrait series. The Queen's hair is styled in characteristic short waves beneath the ornate crown. The surrounding legend reads ELIZABETH II to the upper left and AUSTRALIA 1997 to the right, disposed along the inner rim of the raised border.

附加信息

The Sydney Harbour Bridge centenary commemorative series began appearing in the mid-1990s as Australia's bicentennial commemorative programs wound down and the mint shifted toward infrastructure and national identity themes. This 1997 issue falls within that transitional period, when the Royal Australian Mint was aggressively expanding its collector silver program to compete with the Perth Mint's increasingly dominant bullion and commemorative output.

Ian Rank-Broadley's third portrait of Elizabeth II debuted on Australian coinage in 1999 — meaning this 1997 piece still carries the Raphael Maklouf effigy, the second portrait.
