| 裏面の説明 | The central device displays the full coat of arms of Fiji, featuring a quartered shield supported by two Fijian warriors in traditional dress, one holding a spear and the other a war club. A British lion passant appears above the shield, and a scroll bearing the national motto in Fijian script appears below. Decorative traditional Fijian geometric patterns flank the shield on both sides. The legend FIJI is inscribed at the top of the field, and the denomination $10 appears at the bottom. |

This issue is part of a broader Pacific commemorative gold program produced in the early 2000s, when several Commonwealth island nations issued small-denomination .9999 fine gold pieces at the 1/10 oz and sub-1/10 oz tier to serve the collector bullion market rather than any domestic monetary need. Fiji's Reserve Bank authorized a number of such pieces during Elizabeth II's Golden Jubilee period, with 2002 being the jubilee year itself — fifty years since her accession on 6 February 1952.
