10 Dollars - Elizabeth II

Fiji's 1992 series marked the transition from the earlier Elizabeth II portrait notes to a new family of designs commissioned under De La Rue, replacing the previous generation that had been issued since the early 1980s. This $10 is among the last Fijian notes to feature the Queen's effigy before the Republic's currency was eventually redesigned around purely local imagery following the political turbulence of the coup years.

De La Rue's foil security strip on this issue is integrated rather than windowed — a feature that, by the early 1990s, was already being superseded by more sophisticated thread technology elsewhere in the region.
