Bradbury Wilkinson printed New Zealand's third-series notes at their New Malden works until the firm was absorbed by De La Rue in 1990 — meaning the later printings of this type were completed under new corporate ownership while retaining the original plates and production infrastructure. The series ran long enough to carry three different governor signatures, spanning the tenures of Hardie, Russell, and Brash across more than a decade of significant monetary policy shifts, including New Zealand's landmark 1989 Reserve Bank Act, which formally mandated inflation targeting and redefined the bank's statutory role.
