| Obverse description | The national coat of arms of Liberia occupies the central field, depicting a sailing ship at sea, a palm tree, and a rising sun above a shield, with a plow and shovel in the exergue below. The shield is surmounted by a dove. The year of issue is divided across the lower field, reading '20' to the left and '01' to the right of the arms.
