Obverse description Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II wearing the George IV State Diadem, with neatly coiffed hair and a pearl necklace, rendered in fine relief against a mirror-polished field. The portrait is the fourth definitive effigy of the Queen as used on Commonwealth coinage. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the upper left periphery, while NIUE appears along the upper right, and the date 1998 is positioned along the lower right, all separated by small dot stops.
