The specimen is rendered in vivid polychrome coloring, with a predominantly red dorsal surface mottled with blue and dark markings on the limbs and flanks, and a large black eye. The legend WILDLIFE PROTECTION 2005 arcs along the upper periphery in incuse lettering, and the scientific name DENDROBATES GRANULIFERUS is inscribed in a straight line across the upper field below the legend.
