Liberia's mid-1990s Star Trek commemorative series exploited a loophole common to small-nation minting programs: sovereign authority over legal tender used purely as a vehicle for the collector market, with no expectation of domestic circulation. KM#211 pairs two of the original series' secondary officers on a single issue, part of a broader run that Liberia produced in coordination with third-party licensors following Paramount's aggressive expansion of Trek merchandising in the lead-up to the franchise's 30th anniversary in 1996.
Mintage figures for individual pieces in this series were never rigorously published.
