Reverse description	The reverse presents a highly detailed, gold-plated three-quarter view of the Colosseum (Colosseo) of Rome, its tiered arcaded facade rendered in selective gold gilding that contrasts dramatically against the silver mirror field. The inscription ITALY - COLLOSSEO arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination 10 DOLLARS is engraved in the lower field, and the series inscription EUROPEAN MONUMENTS appears along the bottom rim. The architectural rendering captures the elliptical amphitheatre's multiple storeys of arches and engaged columns with considerable sculptural precision.

Additional information	Nauru's commemorative coinage of the early 2000s was largely produced under licensing arrangements with overseas minting houses targeting the collector market, with little connection to the island's own monetary or political history. This piece belongs squarely to that category — a world-monument series coin with Nauru's name attached as issuing authority of convenience. The Colosseum was begun under Vespasian around 70 AD using the spoils of the Jewish War, including wealth looted from the Temple in Jerusalem.
