Obverse description The official Seal of the Republic of the Marshall Islands occupies the central field, depicting a frigatebird in flight above a traditional Marshallese outrigger canoe on water, flanked by palm trees to the left and a sailing vessel to the right, with a radiant sun and two crossed sticks in the upper portion of the seal. The lower segment of the seal features a traditional Marshallese stick chart navigation device. The entire design is encircled by a decorative chain border, with the legend REPUBLIC OF THE MARSHALL ISLANDS arcing above, the denomination $10 and the date 1996 flanking the sides, and the national motto JEPILPILIN KE EJUKAAN inscribed along the lower arc.
