| 正面描述 | The national seal of the Republic of the Marshall Islands occupies the central field, depicting a traditional stick chart navigator's emblem flanked by outrigger canoe sail and fishing net, with a radiant sun above and palm trees and ocean waves below. A frigate bird with outstretched wings is centered beneath the sun. The legend REPUBLIC OF THE MARSHALL ISLANDS curves along the upper periphery, while the motto JEPILPILIN KE EJUKAAN appears along the lower periphery on a banner. The denomination 10 and date 1993 appear at the left and right sides respectively, and the entire design is encircled by a decorative chain border. |

The Marshall Islands began issuing commemorative coinage in the late 1980s largely as a revenue-generating exercise — the coins were legal tender in name but almost never circulated, sold directly to collectors worldwide through mail-order programs. By 1993, the series had expanded to include seasonal issues, of which this Christmas piece is one. KM#145 is among dozens of collector-targeted issues from this period, produced by foreign mints under contract rather than any domestic facility.
