Vivat Humanitas — "long live humanity" — is the inscription found on the golden box presented to Mozart by Empress Maria Theresa in 1762 after his celebrated performance at Schönbrunn Palace, when he was six years old. This coin lifts that phrase directly from that object. Niue's use of it here is purely a licensing arrangement; the island's GDP is a fraction of the coin's own retail price.
