Sensation Comics #1, published by DC in January 1942, marked Wonder Woman's first solo title appearance — she had debuted in All Star Comics #8 just months earlier. The issue sold out immediately and established her as a commercially viable headliner at a moment when wartime paper shortages were already forcing publishers to cut print runs.
Niue's licensing arrangement with Warner Bros. Discovery has made it one of the more prolific issuers of DC-themed numismatic pieces, with this five-troy-ounce format reserved for the flagship issues in the series.
