Niue has issued Disney-licensed legal tender since 1994, making it one of the longest-running arrangements of its kind between a sovereign mint program and a private entertainment licensor. The island's population of roughly 1,500 generates negligible domestic coin demand, so virtually the entire output of these issues goes directly into the collector market — none of it sees a cash register in Alofi.
