| Beschrijving voorzijde | Unadorned right-facing effigy of King Charles III, the first official portrait by sculptor Dominic Tatcher, rendered in ultra high relief against a deeply mirrored field. The king is depicted in civilian dress with a collar visible at the truncation. The legend 'CHARLES III' arcs along the upper left and 'AUSTRALIA' along the upper right, separated by the portrait. Along the lower periphery, flanked by two raised dots, appear the inscriptions '10oz 9999 Ag' to the left and '10 DOLLARS' to the right, with the engraver's initials 'DT' incuse below the neck truncation. |

The ultra high relief format used here demands exceptional die pressure and typically limits each die pair to far fewer strikes than standard proof production — at 311 grams of .9999 fine silver, each planchet also requires precise annealing to flow cleanly into the deepest recesses without cracking. Perth has refined this process over roughly two decades of large-format UHR issues, but losses at the blanking and striking stages keep effective mintages lower than stated figures suggest.
Charles III's first portrait on Perth Mint issues was authorised following the King's accession in September 2022, with the effigy by sculptor King Dong-Woon approved for Australian coinage through the Royal Australian Mint's portrait vetting process before Perth adopted it for bullion and collector series.
