Liberia's small-format gold issues of the mid-2000s were produced almost exclusively for the collector market, with no meaningful domestic circulation. The 14-karat composition — unusual for a gold commemorative — kept production costs low enough to sell into European souvenir and novelty channels, particularly Germany and Austria, where chamois imagery carried regional appeal.
