| Beschrijving voorzijde | Detailed architectural rendering of the facade of the Cathedral of Brasilia (Catedral Metropolitana Nossa Senhora Aparecida), designed by Oscar Niemeyer, occupying the central field of this diamond-shaped flan. A central trapezoidal aperture is filled with a genuine blue crystal insert simulating the cathedral's iconic stained-glass roof, with a spherical element visible at its centre. The soaring curved concrete columns of the cathedral's hyperboloid structure flank the crystal inset in high relief. To the lower right, a circular cartouche bears the coat of arms of the Republic of Palau surrounded by the legend REPUBLIC OF PALAU and the series inscription RAINBOW'S END. The denomination 10 DOLLARS appears to the left of the central motif, and the date 2012 is inscribed at the lower point of the flan. |

Palau has issued commemorative silver under its own authority since 1992, leveraging a 1994 Compact of Free Association arrangement with the United States that leaves monetary policy largely nominal — the country circulates U.S. dollars in practice. The cathedral series tapped a long-running Vatican-adjacent commemorative market, with Niue, Cook Islands, and Palau all competing aggressively for the same collector base through the early 2010s.
Oscar Niemeyer completed the Catedral Metropolitana de Brasília in 1970, sixteen years after the broader Brasília project was commissioned under Kubitschek's aggressive interior development push.
