Obverse description The Liberian national coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a shield bearing a sailing ship at sea with a rising sun in the background, supported by a dove above and a scroll below bearing the national motto. The date '19 95' is divided to either side of the shield in the lower field. The outer legend reads 'REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA' around the upper periphery, with the motto 'THE LOVE OF LIBERTY BROUGHT US HERE' encircling the mid-field. The lower legend reads 'ONE OUNCE FINE SILVER' and '10 DOLLARS', with the Pobjoy Mint mark 'PM' and 'REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA' inscribed in the exergual area. The design is executed in finely mirrored proof finish with frosted relief.
