| 正面描述 | The obverse features a trapezoidal panel set within the overall triangular-wedge shaped coin flan, bearing a circular inset field with the proof effigy of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, rendered in the Ian Rank-Broadley portrait style. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs to the left, NIUE appears at the top, and 10 DOLLARS is inscribed to the right of the portrait. The date 2014 is positioned below the effigy. The surrounding trapezoidal surface is finished with a fine floral or lace-patterned texture in the silver field. |

Part of a nine-coin architectural series issued by Niue, this piece commemorates Filippo Brunelleschi's dome for the Florence Cathedral — completed in 1436 after over a century of construction delays that had left the building roofless while engineers across Europe debated whether such a span was even possible. Brunelleschi solved the problem without centering, using a herringbone brick pattern and a double-shell construction technique he largely kept secret during his lifetime.
The dome remains the largest masonry dome ever built, a fact that has not changed in nearly six centuries.
