Additional information

Fiji's wildlife-themed bullion issues of the early 2010s were produced by the Bavarian State Mint in Munich under licensing arrangements that allowed Pacific island nations to serve as nominal issuers — a common structure that kept production costs low while giving European mints access to collector markets that responded well to exotic issuing authorities. Fiji itself had no meaningful role in the coin's design or distribution.

The Bald Eagle's appearance on a Fijian issue is purely commercial: the bird has no geographic or cultural connection to the South Pacific.
