| Reverse description | The central field bears a full-color photographic depiction of two baboons, rendered in naturalistic detail against a green background, the animals appearing seated and facing left. The color image is set within a raised circular border that frames the scene. The legend AFRICAN WILDLIFE arcs along the upper periphery of the coin, while the denomination TEN DOLLARS is inscribed along the lower border, with a five-pointed star flanking each side of the denomination. |

Liberia's early 2000s commemorative output was prolific to the point of saturation — the government licensed coin production extensively to foreign distributors, resulting in dozens of wildlife-themed issues struck in silver-plated copper and sold almost exclusively to thematic collectors rather than circulated domestically. This baboon piece is a product of that program, almost certainly struck by a European contract mint.
