Obverse description The obverse bears the Jamaican coat of arms in high relief at center, depicting a quartered shield charged with five pineapples, supported by two Taino figures — a female supporter to the left holding a basket of fruit and a male supporter to the right bearing a bow — with a crocodile crest atop a royal helmet above the shield. The national motto legend OUT OF MANY, ONE PEOPLE appears on a scroll in the lower portion of the arms. The country name JAMAICA is inscribed as an arc along the upper field, while the denomination TEN DOLLARS and the date 1984 curve along the lower field, all within a beaded border.
